Next meeting:
2:00pm Tuesday the 14th April at the Bedhampton Community Centre.
The April meeting will focus on small, portable items, with an interesting history. The items may have been inherited, discovered, received as a gift or purchased at an auction, charity shop or car boot sale. Any additional research or photographs would be welcome.
The Antiques & Collectables group has been formed to celebrate & appreciate the skills & crafts in the UK & beyond. We will look at antiques & collectables consisting of pottery, glass, furniture, jewellery, books, paintings etc. In each session we will focus on a particular type of antique or collectable & share personal stories about items brought in, owned or found by members of the group. The individual items presented may have been handed down through the family, purchased whilst travelling or working abroad, or picked up in charity shops, antiques fairs or auctions. Our focus will be on the enjoyment, or personal value, of skilfully made antiques or collectables.
Cost, please note.
When you enrol in the group you will be asked to pay the Treasurer, Ray Beadell, enough to cover your proportion of the room hire cost for all the planned meetings until the end of the August. Contact Cathy, the group leader, for details.
