Line dancing has been running within the Havant U3A for over 10 years and in order to attend these classes it is a requirement to be a member of Havant u3a.
Hi Everyone,
Hope you have all had a good summer. It is that time of year again to renew your annual U3A Membership. The annual cost is £18.00 for full membership and £12.00 for associate membership. You can pay by bank transfer, card or cash at the AGM which will be held in the Bedhampton Community Centre on the 17th of September at 2:00pm.
Autumn/Winter Term
Line Dancing starts on Friday 25th September, two classes, 11am- 12noon and 12noon -1pm. Please attend the same class if you are an existing participant. The Autumn /Winter term is an 11-week course, beginning on Friday 25th September and ending on Friday 4th December.
The non-refundable fee is a very reasonable £35.00 payable in advance, either at the AGM, by Bank Transfer to The Treasurer, Havant U3A, Sort Code; 20-69-34, Account Number 90481882, or on the 2nd October directly to our Treasurer, Ray, by cheque, cash or card. Ray apologizes for not being able to attend the 25th September as he is away. You can pay both membership and Line Dancing fees together on the 2nd October should you wish. The total cost for both is £53.00 if you are a full member of Havant u3a or £47.00 if you are an associate member.
The year is divided into three terms: Spring, Summer and Autumn.
Our tutor, Richard Hennessey, is a professional dance teacher who runs a local dance academy, Dance Revival, where all types of dance, from ballroom to Latin are taught.
The group is constantly learning new dances, as well as practising the more familiar ones, so it is suitable for both experienced line dancers, but also those new to this form of exercise. Richard is a very experienced dance teacher, who takes the group slowly through each section of a dance in the warm up section, before the accompanying music is added. Many of the dancers enjoy the mental stimulation of dancing in a set routine as well as the physical benefits of the exercise sessions.
It is a very friendly and lively group where dancers attend on a weekly basis, the funds raised pay for the teacher's time and the hire of the hall. We are self financing and have 'balanced our books' over the years the classes have been running.
A Risk Assessment is available for this group on request from the Secretary (click on this link to send a message).
